Line C3 - Haruka Fujii, Michael Caterisano, Sam Solomon, and Chris Thompson, are thrilled to invite you Wednesday, March 7th, 2012 to the Pregones Theater for a FREE Carnegie Hall Neighborhood Series Concert featuring weird and wonderful 20th century avant-garde European composers going head-to-head with the rising young rockstars of 21st century New York.

This entertaining and rambuctious concert will feature 3 world premiers, Sam jibjabbing in French, the sequel to Chris' "Famicom" (for percussionist, Nintendo Entertainment System, and imaginary drumline), and a guest appearance by confirmed, actual rockstar Chris Kapica (who says hi, by the way!)

Line C3 has lots of fun projects in the works for 2011 - 2012: newly commissioned works from Chris Kapica and Sean Friar and big shows for the Carnegie Hall Neighborhood Concert Series, among others. In the meantime, we ponder the psychadelic VW Bug Hood from Sean Friar's Clunker Concerto:

Come help Line C3 (Haruka Fujii, John Ostrowski, Sam Solomon, and Chris Thompson) and the Wordless Music Orchestra Sink the Titanic at the exact moment of its 99th Anniversary with a performance of Gavin Bryars' The Sinking of the Titanic at the Guggenheim Museum.

This performance does include, in any way, shape, or form, Leonardo DiCaprio. Yay!

However, what it does include is terrifying percussion stylings and a fascinating installation in the rotunda by artist Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster. GET YOUR TICKETS HERE!

On March 4, Line C3 and Sean Friar welcome you to the American Composers Orchestra's series Playing It UNSafe with the world premier of Friar's Clunker Concerto for Junk Car and Orchestra.

This fun and highly experimental piece features found and junk instruments set as you've never seen them set before. Painstakingly analyzed and written into the orchestra's harmonic and timbral texture in highly specific ways, the result is a fascinating panorama of colors and textures, with just a touch of classic Line C3 fun and theatricality.

This concert is the result of a year-long collaboration between the American Composers Orchestra and the six resident composers through lab workshops around NYC. Little, Nico Muhly, and Carl Schimmel. This integrated set will also feature violist Nadia Sirota and a world premier for viola and four iPhones by Marcos Balter.

There will be so many bubbles, metric modulations, and plentiful booze.
